11.22.08 Character Bios Update: Your character may now start off with TEN items. Please alter your Character Bios Items section. Also, a few new items have been added to the Item Index and more are to come. Again, we are open to just about any idea for new items, ports, and groups. Expect a Minor Port soon. I also apologize for my absence on the forum - a lot of things are happening around me including school finals and a funeral. Things may move a little slow, but I will get back to working on the forum ASAP. - Sheri

11.16.08 There are currently three openings for the Bank Admin Position. A few boards have been rearranged, but nothing big. Deciding on new items and we are very lenient on customs and ideas right now so if you have any ideas for items, groups, or ports, please feed us with your thoughts! The items list is growing very slowly. - Sheri

11.11.08 So, we have decided on a Bank System. It is a combination of the Board and Thread idea. And if this fails... Well, we've got another plan. So let's just see how it all works out! - Sheri

11.01.08 Well since our currency system has done itself over, we have come up with a new way to work the currency by trying to establish a set Bank system. Problem is we have to choose between two ways of organizing it... By board or by thread. Please give us your opinion on this issue. - Sheri

 What's Happening  Ports
Once we reach 20 characters, Nominations for Port Leader will begin. The three Major Ports are all open for candidates. As for now, all ports are running under NPC standard ruling. Stay tuned for more information!

For a limited time, we will be giving new characters 10,000 doubloons to start with instead of the standard 5,000.

Staff Positions are open (even to new members) no matter how long you have been here. This is only for a limited time. Before applying, you must have an active character and have made at least fifteen (15) IC posts.

Once we reach 25 members, we will start our Site Themes Contest. More information soon to come!

Welcome to DangerousWaters
The roleplay world set in the future after Mother Nature devastated land masses and countries, leaving our once blue, green and brown globe nothing but a deep blue ball full of treacherous oceans and mysterious depths. However, human life is far from over – some managed to survive the chaotic times of tsunamis and hurricanes and fought to live on. Small ports were built, trades set up, and soon the memory of dry land had been considered a tall tale, a ridiculous myth, and an entertaining idea. Explorers have set out to look for dry land, but only a few have ever come back to their homes to speak of their adventures.

"There is nothing; no beach in sight. No grass, no sand, no palm trees reaching for the heavens. Just the blue ocean and the ever changing sky," they'd tell their wives and their kids. But what happened to the others? Have they found a bit of dry land and did not want to spoil its beauty by spreading the word? Or were they savagely killed by desperate criminals; their ships taken over and their journeys ended? Unfortunately, the world may never know. And, much like dry land, the memories are soon forgotten.

It is human nature to dwell on the past and wonder "What if?", "Why?", and "How?", but it is survival instinct that tells us to move on: To keep on living and fighting for our food and other basic necessities in our life. So that is what society did; moved on. As people gradually got back on their feet, adapted to the sea and made new homes for themselves, trade came about and agriculture evolved. As paper money was useless between different cultures, doubloons (any bit of gold weighing around 5 grams) became the new currency, and new advancements come about slowly.

With the desire to create a mariner’s role play, the idea of a post-apocalyptic "water world" branched from the movie Waterworld. However, the storyline is not related to the movie.
