Custom Information and TemplatesCustom Groups/Organizations Custom Items Custom and Private Vessels Accepting Customs: It takes three acceptances from staff for a Custom to be accepted. Once accepted, it will be modified and put into the appropriate category, considered "official". Only Admin, Head Mods, Mods, and Assistants may accept a custom. Once a custom is accepted, you must notify a Staff Member if you wish to make modifications to your custom. If it is not accepted within 14 days of posting, it is safe to try again if it hasn't endured too much criticism. Please note we will be very hard on those who try and create customs; we are not trying to be mean.
When making the thread for a Custom, please include the name of what the Custom is, and put the initials of what its category is (Custom Group is CG, Custom Item is CI, etc), and whether the Custom is ready to be judged and accepted; NF meaning Not Finished and C meaning Complete. Post your thread in the Index board. Of course, you may receive feedback from members and staff alike saying the good and bad points of your custom, and you might make adaptations to it along the way... Either way, you have 14 days to wait until the Custom is absolutely denied.
The following Templates should explain things clear enough, but if you wish for more information or do not understand this fully, your best bet would be to ask a staff member or go to the Support board, as we are happy to help.

Custom Group/Organization (CG) Template A Group or Organization is an assembly of those who think alike and work together to try and make a difference in the world and fight for what they believe in. They may be peaceful or may be violent, depending on the group and their cause. A group usually promises protection and profit, though not all can hold their word. No Group will allow others to plainly join; new members must be accepted. Leaving a group may result in death. You can find a collection of Groups here.
When selecting the Region for your Group or Organization, keep in mind that they may not start off in their own Port, but they could be working towards owning one. Of course, creating your own port is hard work, and you must have at least 10 members to create a Minor Port. A Minor Port will cost 500 doubloons per member (including yourself) to create. As the leader(s) of a Minor Port, you may charge your members this money (monthly taxes, or upfront pay), or you may pay for it yourself. This is all up to you and how you plan to run this port. Once your group reaches 20 or more members, you may want to become a Major Port. The cost to upgrade to a Major Port will be a onetime payment of 10,000 doubloons, and the Port will be open to both members and non-members of your group. This means you will have a concrete foundation for your group, and if you really want to, you could try for world domination... Good luck!
Name: Purpose: Why did this group get together in the first place? Description: Describe what their beliefs and plans are and how they go about completing them. You may also give a brief explanation of the general personality and attitude of it's members. History: How this group came about and how it started. Region: Worldwide and scattered members? Do their members stay in the general area of one ocean or sea? Do they own their own port? Minor Port or Major Port? Class: Underground or Mainstream. Government: How does this group run and how is it organized? List ranks and jobs for ranks if there are any.

Custom Items (CI) Template Items are things that may be bought, sold, and traded in shops, among merchants, and with random customers all around the world or in only certain areas. These may be weapons, clothing items, items used everyday, etc. When making a custom item, please check the Item Index board to make sure this item hasn't been made yet.Name: Type: Clothing (something worn), Weaponry/Defense (comes in use when in battle), Handy Item (practical, useful items), Medical (used to heal and to help) Price: Give us a good estimate of what you think this item might cost. Description: What does this item look like? What is it made out of? If you are to supply a picture, please give a link to it and do not post the picture directly in the post. Use: What's it used for? How does it work? Be very descriptive. Distribution: Universal (found anywhere and everywhere), or is it very rare? Sold by a few people or places? Please be specific.

Custom/Private Vessels (CV) Template Read more about owning a boat before stressing yourself out with this process. Also, you can see the current boats for rent and sale here. The process to creating your own boat goes beyond the template; you must follow some simple, In Character and Out of Character, steps. Please read and follow them carefully:Step 1. IC - You must meet up with a Craftsman (most likely found at the SES) and inform him of your situation: wishing to have a boat made for yourself. If they agree on creating a boat for you, you move onto Step 2. If they do not agree, find another Craftsman. If you cannot find another Craftsman, we suggest you look into buying an already existing boat, or renting one.
Step 2. OC - You fill out this template and submit it into customs:Code:Name: Type: Size: Price Range: Description: Mobility: History: |
|
Step 3. IC - Explain to the Craftsman how you would like your boat to be and ask about the price. OC - Slip the link (of your custom waiting for acception) into your post for your Craftsman to see.
Step 4. IC - You and your Craftsman will negotiate a price depending on the Price Range of your boat (depending on it's size). The Craftsman may not go higher than the price range. They can go lower than the price range only if they wish to. Once you agree on a price, move on to Step 5. If you think you and the Craftsman will not agree, you may cancel the deal and find another Craftsman who you can reason with.
Step 5. OC - The Craftsman will post as a fourth person to accept the Custom with a message that includes how much they are charging you for this boat. IC - You and the Craftsman will then agree on whether the boat will be delievered to you via Carter, or if you will pick it up once it is finished being built. (This is to keep the role-play going as some Customs may take days to be accepted and you have better things to be doing than waiting for them to complete your boat, and they may have customers to tend to.)
Step 6. OC - Once your custom is accepted it will either be delievered to you via Carter, or you may pick it up once the custom has gone through (depending on what you and the Craftsman agreed on; Carter or Pick-up). If you have agreed to pick it up, you must, IC, travel to wherever the Craftsman is and pick it up and pay the Craftsman. Your money will automatically transfer to the Craftsman's account (and 20% of the price will be paid to the Carter as well if they deliver) once you have the boat in your hands. Congratulations! You now have your very own boat! However, if your custom has been denied, go on to Step 7...
Step 7. OC - If you haven't had too much negative criticism over your custom, you may want to try again. However, you will have to go through all of Steps 1 through 6 again. Maybe you should consider buying a boat? We surely hope no one gets to Step 7, and to help you all out, here is the CV Template explained:Name: Name your boat. (Ex: Jaws - Orca; Forest Gump - Jenny; etc.) Type: What type of vessel is this? Catamaran? Fishing Boat? Etc. Size: Large (could hold about 10 people), Midsize (holds no more than 6 people), Small (holds no more than 3 passengers). Price Range: Small boats generally go for 2,500 to 5,000 doubloons; Midsize boats for 5,000 to 8,000; Large boats for 8,000 to 12,000. Keep in mind this is around the price you are going to be paying. The Craftsman who decides to sell it to you can charge as much as they want in this price range. Description: What does your boat look like? Any thing made specifically for it? Colors? You could be as basic or as descreiptive as you would like; just give us a general idea. If you wish to add a picture, please give it in the form of a link. Mobility: Sails, Rowing, Motor, or Multiple (sails and/or engine and/or rowing). This is how your boat gets around. History: Here you must list previous owners (if there are any) and note why the boat's owner has changed. For example: Frank (Craftsman), Sasha (deceased), Cameron (current owner). "Brand New" will do if it has just been made. Once Accepted, the boat's owner is responsible for informing a staff member when the History needs to be updated.
